A tiny fish makes a lot of noise
This fish named Danionella cerebrum was discovered in the year 1980, but it could be identified in the year 2021. It belongs to a species of very small fish and its size is only as much as a nail. Recently, researchers came to know an interesting thing about this fish. Through its sonic muscles and drumming cartilage, the fish can make a sound as loud as the sound of a bullet. Its sound from 10-12 millimeters can be 140 dB. In simple language, this is as much noise as the plane makes while landing and taking off.

Dr. Rolf Britz, a scientist at Senckenberg Natural History Collections, said that this sound is quite loud for such a small creature. It is not that there are no creatures that make louder noises than this, but this sound is quite loud for fish that are generally considered quiet. Video recordings showed that this sound comes from a rib near the fish’s swim bladder.
